This is the earliest blooming shrub around here. Most of the time in bloom before any other leaves are out. Often, during severe winters, the flower buds will be killed and only survive where there was snow covering the lower branches.

Nice colour combination. They look like very pretty shrubs to have in the garden in early spring.
